JAH.CNPS I am a PhD student in Kathleen Kay‘s lab at UC Santa Cruz. I am broadly interested in macroevolutionary perspectives on diversity. I’m excited about plants as a system since although they comprise the majority of earth’s biomass, we still know very little about them.

I’m passionate about issues of access in science. Teaching and outreach are at the core of my scientific practice. I believe increasing the proportion of open access articles is critical for spreading scientific ideas outside of academia, as well as open sharing of data.
